About us
Melbourne University Hockey Club (MUHC) was established in 1907 and is an affiliated sporting club of the University of Melbourne.
The MUHC membership primarily consists of students, alumni and staff of the University, but anyone can - and indeed does - join. We have a diverse group of members, with many from overseas, interstate, or regional Victoria, and some who grew up just across the road.
The club is one of the largest senior hockey clubs in Victoria and one of the largest sporting clubs at the University, fielding numerous men's and women's teams in both senior and masters competitions through Hockey Victoria. These teams range from Premier League right down through to beginner and social hockey.
MUHC is also one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Victoria, having won 12 women's A grade and 10 men's A grade premierships, and produced many Australian representatives. We are the only remaining founding member of the Victorian Women's Hockey Association, and the oldest extant member of the Victorian Hockey Association.
The club’s home matches and trainings are held at the State Sport Centres - Parkville (an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria).
The Melbourne University Hockey Pitch located on the Parkville campus is not currently used for club training or matches.
