The Sport Foundation
The University of Melbourne Sport Foundation was established in 2011, with the Hockey Club as the inaugural Chapter, to create a significant endowment (corpus) to future proof the sporting clubs and sporting programs of the University. It enables benefactors to receive tax deductions for their donations in support of their sporting interest, with the University then managing the Foundation investment as part of the wider University Endowment Fund.
The Hockey Chapter of the Foundation provides annual income to the Club that supports the provision of scholarships for student-athletes and elite coaching for our High Performance Program, whilst keeping the cost of participation more affordable. The Foundation also allows the Club to utilise the University’s investment expertise, and provides an additional safeguard for the Club’s capital - with the corpus able to be accessed if necessary.
Donate to Hockey
Support student participation in hockey through the Hockey Club with a donation (tax deductible) either:
to the Hockey Chapter of the Sport Foundation (added to the corpus); or
for the immediate needs of hockey (this will go to the Club immediately rather than into the corpus).
If you would like to make a donation for a specific purpose or cause (such as establishing a scholarship), please contact the club secretary, or the Sport Foundation's Development Manager.
